• CityChain17

    4th April 2017 | IBM Southbank | London

  • What is CityChain17?

Blockchain is a hot topic, fast gaining column inches as an enabler of business and customer transformation alike. Blockchain represents tremendous business opportunities, but how do you cut through the hype?

CityChain17 brings together Blockchain and Distributed Ledger thought leaders and entrepreneurs from across the globe. The aim? To provide the best and latest informed thinking and hype-free exploration of ideas, use cases, challenges, and concerns. The event is targeted at businesses, technologists, students, and academics with a need or desire to know more and to hear of the very best thinking in this important sector.

    Why Attend?

Over the course of the last eighteen months, we have seen many events held to help people fast-track their knowledge of Blockchain. To date, the results have been mixed and we believe there are still too many gaps in the explanations provided and as a result, the hype remains high.

This event will deliver deep insight grounded in what is possible and what is up next for Blockchain. Based on our experience of running similar events, it will answer key questions, facilitate learning and provide an open forum for networking with people experienced in coal face implementation of distributed ledger solutions.

The topics of discussion will include:

    • What is distributed ledger technology (Blockchain) and what does it mean, for business?
    • How are people starting to use it, and what’s next?  In particular, what do the use cases really look like?
    • Blockchain is hot in Financial Services, but where else is it being tried, and how?  What next outside of the financial services sector?
    • Can Blockchain really cure the common cold? – the reality of the real issues and answers rather than the much-flaunted hype.

    What to Expect?

Feedback from previous events tells us that our participants can expect to achieve a step change in their appreciation for both business and technical issues for Blockchain success.

To enhance this, participants will also realise the opportunity to enhance their appreciation for the art of the possible. Finally, attendees will leave the event with an in-depth appreciation of what others in the market are doing to push the Blockchain boundaries. Specifically, participants will experience:

    • Presentations exploring the most pressing issues in Blockchain today (and how to tackle them)
    • Panel discussions with industry insiders, explaining their approaches and use cases across a range of sectors.

Networking opportunities with start-up companies, Blockchain pathfinders and trailblazers, deep thinkers, and like-minded people.
